Heaton-with-Oxcliffe Parish Council have organised a special event to commemorate and remember the victims of the White Lund Explosions, 100 years ago this month.
The short candlelit ceremony (lasting approximately 20 minutes) will be held on Sunday 29th October beginning soon after 5pm. The ceremony will take place at the top end of Northgate – directly opposite Asda and Busy Bees Nursery.
At around 5:15pm a Memorial Plaque will be unveiled by the Chair of the Parish Council and the names of the victims will be read out.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
