Issue 5 of the council’s Newsletter will be dropping through your letterboxes soon.  In this edition, you can find out how you can improve your life expectancy by taking your health into your hands and following Five Ways to Wellbeing.

We tell you about a new campaign that aims to raise awareness of the early signs of dementia and to encourage people to visit their GP for a memory check if they have noticed changes in the memory or behaviour of someone they know.  For more information, advice and support visit www.lancashire.gov.uk/dementia or attend the events during Dementia week, within Heaton-with-Oxcliffe, at Salt Ayre Sports Centre between 15 – 21 May 2016.

This edition of the council’s Newsletter also sets out details of the council’s early plans to produce a Community Emergency Plan aimed at being prepared for emergencies that could affect our community. This is a substantial piece of work and the council is keen to work together with agencies, local authorities, businesses, community groups and individuals to establish a community network that will build resilience within the community.

If you can help in anyway or want to hear more about the work of the council please contact the Clerk.
